We started Tell My Life Story because we believe the most important stories in the world aren't in libraries — they're in living rooms, waiting to be told.
There's a moment most families know — sitting around a table at the holidays, listening to a grandparent tell a story you've heard before, and realizing one day you won't hear it again.
We built Tell My Life Story for that moment. Not to replace it, but to make sure those stories — the small ones, the funny ones, the ones that make your family yours — are never lost.
Our approach is simple: a warm, patient AI interviewer calls your loved one by phone. No apps to download. No cameras to set up. Just a conversation, the way stories have always been shared — voice to voice. The interviewer asks thoughtful questions, follows their lead, and gently draws out the details that make a life extraordinary.
Those conversations are then carefully transformed into beautifully written memoir chapters — not by an algorithm, but through a process that preserves their voice, their cadence, their way of seeing the world. The result is a real, professionally printed hardcover book that your family will keep forever.

Why I Built This
I'm writing the full story of why preserving my father's memories became the most important project of my life — and why I built Tell My Life Story so every family can do the same.
— Torstein Kolset, Founder
Your loved one shouldn't need to learn new technology. A phone call is all it takes.
You don't need to have climbed Everest. The stories that matter most are the ones only your family knows.
Digital files get lost. A hardcover book on a shelf is something your grandchildren will find someday.
